Information about Pau D'Arco

Question

I have purchased Pau D'Arco for a fungal infection in my toe nail....my question is on the label the latin name is Handroanthus heptaphylus however when I do a 'google scholar' search on this latin name nothing shows up ? is this the same product as Tabebuia avellanedae or Tabebuia impetiginosa which are the common latin terms for Pau D'Arco

Naturopath’s Answer

Hi Gary,

Handroanthus heptaphyllus is the Latin name for Pau D’Arco that the TGA is requiring all Australian Pau D’Arco products to go under, for better recognition of the herb globally. It is the same as as Tabebuia avellanedae and Tabebuia impetiginosa.
